My name is Steve Raine and welcome to my micro-website. Why micro? Well its still got some growing to do – more information, more photographs all still to come. profile
Having some 25 years experience in the profession, latterly six years as a director of a multi-disciplinary company based in Edinburgh and Glasgow, I set up my own business as an architect in East Lothian in 2007, to regain a more ‘hands-on’ approach and to seek a better work-life balance.

I aim to provide client focused, design-led solutions that will strive to meet, if not exceed, client expectations. I seek to achieve cost effective, environmentally sensitive and imaginative solutions that will add value to your property.

projects
I provide architectural services across most market sectors. This ranges as follows:
Domestic - new one-off house designs, house extensions, loft and attic conversions and interior design improvements
Residential - new houses, steadings and modest scale residential developments
Private – extensions and new build hotels, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts, golf and sports clubs.
Commercial – offices, retail

geography
Whilst I live in Haddington, East Lothian, I also have a base from which I can work in Helensburgh and will cover most projects within about two hours - throughout Scotland if the project is a good size. Areas serviced include Edinburgh, West and Midlothian, Scottish Borders, Fife, Falkirk, Stirling, Perth & Kinross, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire, Argyll & Bute, Dumfries & Galloway. I am currently undertaking work in Haddington, North Berwick, Dunbar, Gifford, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardross, Helensburgh, Gullane and Longniddry.

architects fees and service
There is no set scale of fees for Architects services. Each individual appointment is different and deserving of a tailored fee proposal based on the extent of service required and complexity of the work involved. I can provide a full architects service from inception through to completion including survey, sketch options, planning, warrant, tender, contract administration and site inspection; or a part service which often finishes after obtaining a building warrant. A free initial consultation is always provided.
